Our Experience with Vinyl Decals Inspired Us to Look for a Better Alternative
While decorating our nursery, we went on a search for the perfect wall decals and ended up ordering some cute vinyl decals online. When the decals arrived, the toxic smell of the vinyl was quite strong and the set was in 16 different pieces. All of these pieces had to fit perfectly together according to the instructions and applied using tape and the included squeegee to create the intended design. This was much more complicated than expected and it took two of us over 3 straight hours to complete. Initially, we were happy with the way it looked but a few months later the vinyl started shrinking, causing visible gaps between the design. Several pieces also bubbled and curled on the edges and would not stay put.
Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time and money on common vinyl wall decals like we did.
